Sharps Bros TOR (Thumb On Right) Vertical Precision Grip -The Firearm Blog

Well, yes, technically it is another AR-15 pistol grip, however, its shape is so unique and interesting that I thought it deserves a separate article to be written about. This new Sharps Bros product is called TOR Vertical Precision Grip with TOR standing for Thumb On Right. Let’s take a closer look.

The Sharps Bros TOR Vertical Precision Grip is designed for the precision shooting community which should appreciate the angle of the grip and the large thumb shelf on the right side as most of the long-range shooters nowadays don’t wrap the thumb of their primary hand around the grip but rest it on the same side with their index trigger finger. Probably the most interesting design element of this grip is its rearward extended geometry with two concave surfaces that are designed to perfectly fit the shape of your palm accommodating the thenar muscles, the group of muscles at the base of the thumb.

The left side of the Sharps Bros TOR Vertical Precision Grip is flat to provide a resting surface for the other three fingers of your primary hand. The front curved wall of the grip features large horizontal serration and a small extension at the very bottom to provide a better purchase on the grip and vertical retention of your hand.

This AR-15 grip is made of Nylon 12 which the company describes as “incredibly strong, lightweight polymer that is both abrasion and chemical resistant“. The overall weight of the grip is 1.6 ounces.

Do you think it offers everything a precision shooter needs or would you prefer a slightly different design, addition or removal of any of the design elements? Sound off in the comments section.
