Daniel Defense has announced that the GRIP-N-RIP charging handle that was previously seen in new DD5 rifle models, is now available separately. The new ambidextrous charging handle has two versions – for AR-15 and AR-10 pattern weapons. This accessory is packed with all the features modern shooters demand from an AR charging handle.
Here is the description of this product as seen on the company’s website:
The Daniel Defense GRIP-N-RIP Charging Handle was designed and manufactured with the features and benefits to enhance every user’s comfort and performance. The GRIP-N-RIP is engineered for suppressed fire, with anti-gas features that redirect gas flow upward and away from the face and away from the operator. Independently ambidextrous handles accommodate left- and right-handed shooters with each handle independently operating the latch. The 5.56 option fits all AR-15 pattern rifles, and the 7.62 option fits all DD5 and all DPMS Gen 1 length AR-10 rifles.
The main body of the GRIP-N-RIP charging handle is machined out of 7076-T6 aluminum. The handles and the latch are made of 6061-T6 aluminum. The roll pins holding the moving components to the main body are made of stainless steel. All the aluminum parts feature Type III hard coat anodized finish of black color.
The actual handles of this charging handle have serrations both on the front and rear portion which should provide a solid purchase on the handle for reliably gripping and ripping it. Note that these are not extended handles (at least compared to some extremely extended handles on the market) which is actually preferred by many shooters because lower profile handles have fewer chances of snagging on gear.
The Daniel Defense GRIP-N-RIP charging handle is listed on the company’s website at an MSRP of $99. The price is identical both for AR-15 and AR-10 versions.
