The Connecticut-based O.F. Mossberg & Sons will release more than two dozen new shotguns and rifles at the gun industry’s annual trade show, SHOT, in Las Vegas this week, according to the company’s announcements.
The new shotguns range from economical models in the Maverick line to semi-auto hunting scatterguns to defense-oriented pump actions and a new magazine-fed shotty.
930 and 835 Ulti-Mag Multi-Purpose Field Models added with new 26- or 28-inch barrel options and in black and bottomland camo.
The new autoloading models are chambered for three-inch 12 gauge shells, putting capacity at five shells, equipped with an FO front sight, use Mossberg’s Accu-set choke system and have a synthetic stock. Barrel length changes the rest of the specs. MSRP is $560 and $640 depending on barrel length.
The pump-action models are chambered for 3.5-inch 12-gauge shells, putting capacity at six shells, use a 26-inch barrel, which puts overall length at 56.75 inches and weight at 7.5 pounds. MSRP is $518-$603.
Mag-Fed 590 Pump-Action Shotgun introduced with interchangeable five-, 10-, 15-, and 20-round double-stack magazines. The two new models are chambered for 12 gauge shells, use an 18.5-inch barrel with a matte blue finish, has an overall length of 39.5 inches and weight at 7.75 pounds. Features include a black synthetic stock and with or without the Accu-choke system. MSRP is $721-$801. Also, the polymer magazines range in price, from $101-$140 depending on size.
Maverick 88 Tactical Pump-Actions introduced in a six- and eight-shot Flat Dark Earth version, plus a folding stock. The three new models — ranging in price from $245-$259 — are chambered for three-inch 12 gauge shells. All models have the new finish, but the folding stock is only available with a six-shot model.
SA-28 and SA-20 Bantam Autoloaders added for youth shooters. Mossberg expanded its line of Bantam semi-auto shotguns. The new gun is chambered for 20- and 28-gauge shells and the stock is fitted for a a 12.5-inch length of pull and a 24-inch barrel for an overall length of 40.75 inches. Options include a walnut or synthetic stock. MSRP is $570-$654.
590 Shockwave 12-Gauge expanded with new finishes. Updating the popular trend of short-barreled shotguns with two new options: a Flat Dark Earth Cerakote and Just-In-Case (JIC) finishes. Classified as a “non-NFA Firearm” with the ATF, this compact shotgun is available free of the strict National Firearms Act regulations. Using a 590 pump action, the Shockwave is chambered for 12-gauge shells and equipped with a 14-inch barrel putting the overall length at 26.37 inches. MSRP $504-$647.
For rifles, Mossberg is adding some 30 new models and variants, with a big push in 6.5 Creedmoor and bolt-action rifles with tactical features.
Patriot Revere Bolt-Action Rifles will feature new select walnut stocks enhanced with rosewood and maple accents. The hunting rifle is available in a variety of chamberings including 6.5 Creedmor, .243 Win., .308 Win., .270 Win., 30-06 Springfield, and .300 Win Mag. Features include a 24-inch blued barrel putting the overall length at 44.75 inches. The stock is a classic style European walnut with rosewood tip and grip maple spacers. MSRP is $843.
MVP LC (Light Chassis) Rifle Line-Up expands with new AR-compatible, target Rifles in 6.5mm Creedmoor, 5.56mm NATO and 7.62mm NATO. The new bolt-action rifles feature a medium bull blued barrel with fluting and threaded, a Picatinny rail, and an aluminum chassis with an adjustable buttstock and MOE pistol grip. Barrel length varies by caliber. MSRP is $1,050.
MVP Precision Bolt-Action Rifles released in AR-compatible and long-range tactical rifles in 6.5mm Creedmoor and 7.62mm NATO. These bolt-action rifles feature a medium bull barrel with matte blue finishing, a 20 MOA PIcatinny rail, an aluminum chassis, an adjustable buttstock and pistol grip. Specs vary by caliber. The 6.5 Creedmoor uses a 24-inch barrel, which puts the overall length at 43.25 inches and weight at 10 pounds. The 7.62 rifle is equipped with a 20-inch barrel putting overall length at 39.25 inches and weight at 9.25 pounds. MSRP is $1,407.
Premium bolt-actions Patriot Rifles now available with Cerakote stainless metal finish. The new rifle is available in six different calibers — 6.5mm Creedmoor, 243 Win, 7mm-08 Rem, 308 Win, 270 Win and 30-06 Sprg. It features a weather-resistant, black synthetic stock and the Patriot’s barrel and bolt finished with Cerakote Stainless (H-Series) firearm coating for enhanced protection from abrasions, chemicals and corrosion. The new rifle measures in with a 22-inch fluted barrel, putting overall length at 42.25 inches and weight at 6.5 pounds. MSRP is $440.
Including the aforementioned models, Mossberg is adding 14 more rifles chambered for 6.5mm Creedmoor. New models range from MVP and Patriot models.
