Swedish Army buys Aimpoint CompM5 and MPS3 red dot sights.

Last summer TFB reported that the Swedish Procurement Office (FMV Sweden) was looking for a new red dot for the Swedish Armed Forces. Already in 2002 Aimpoint signed a contract with FMV and has since then supplied red dots for the Ak4, Ak5 and other service firearms.

Fast forward to 2018, this time they have chosen the new Aimpoint CompM5, but also the Aimpoint MPS3 which is suited for heavier machine guns.

I think most people are already familiar with the Aimpoint CompM5 by now, but the MPS3 may need some explanation. Released already in 2007 the Aimpoint MPS3 (Multi Purpose Sight) is now the third generation of passive electronic reflex collimator sights, suited for medium to heavy support weapons primarily for military applications.

The contract is worth over 20 million SEK, which is about 2,5 million USD.
