ProMag showed off their new drum mags for the AR-15, AK-47 and AR-10. In case you missed it they also just released a new Archangel stock that converts your standard Ruger 10/22 rifle into a take down. Not a whole lot of details have been released on their new mags but what we do know is their AR-15 drum mag will hold 65 rounds, their AK-47 drum mag will hold 50 round and their AR-10 (.308) drum mag will hold 50 rounds. I didn’t have official weights on the drum mags and I forgot my digital scale at home, but the mags did feel very lightweight.
The drum mag will include a loading tool, it’s not needed to load the mag but it should make the job easier. Their drum mags are so new they didn’t even have the loading tool at the show for me to take a picture of. The huge knob at the front of the drum mag is to adjust the tension when loading. The body of the drum mag is made out of polymer while the feed lips and mag catch are reinforced with steel.
Their new drum mags should be available very soon, the AR-10 drum mag will have an MSRP of $129 and the AR and AK drum mags will have an MSRP of $99. ProMag did say they are also working on drum mags for the FN SCAR and the M1A rifle that should be coming later this year.
