Good news Canada! You’ll finally be getting the Glock 19 Gen 4. Glock showed off their new Canadian compliant version of the G19 Gen 4 at the 2018 SHOT Show. The factory Glock 19 barrel is 102mm which was too short to be legal in Canada, they require handgun barrels to be over 105mm. The new Canadian compliant model Glock 19 Gen 4 has a barrel that’s 106mm in length and as you can see from the picture below it pokes out a tad from the slide. I wonder if the extra few millimeters of barrel length will give any noticeable increase in velocity and accuracy? Meh, probably not.
The new Canadian Glock 19 will also come with a 10 round magazine which is also required to be Canadian compliant. Glock also engraved a Canadian Maple Leaf on the slide to commemorate the new model which I think was a nice touch. Sorry California, you’re still not getting any Gen 4 Glocks.
And as a bonus here’s a coyote Glock 19x. I haven’t had a chance to fondle one of these before SHOT Show, after playing around with it this week I thought it was meh. It’s not a horrible idea, I can see this being an option for some but I probably won’t be adding one to my Glock stable. I do love the coyote color however.
I wonder if Glock is also working on a Canadian compliant Glock 19x.
