Ruger American Rimfire® target .22 long rifle w/ Thumbhole Stock

This variation of the American Rimfire rifle that Ruger has produced for a few years adds a much sturdier stock as well as a cold-hammer forged target barrel. By incorporating their Power Bedding® (integral bedding block system) and coupling it with a black laminate thumbhole stock, this rifle, in theory, should have a lot more accuracy behind it. With the barrel being free-floated and the rifle employing the Ruger Marksman Adjustable™ trigger, it is a rimfire rifle truly set up for success. The MSRP of the Ruger American Rimfire Target .22 Long Rifle with Thumbhole Stock is $559.

  • 18″ Cold-Hammer Forged Target Barrel w/ 1/2″ x 28 TPI
  • Black Laminate Stock w/ Thumbhole & Adjustable Length-of-Pull

This iteration of the standard Ruger American rifle boasts a lot more quality and features. They all come with a Cerakoted Bronze finish paired with Go Wild® Camo. They also are outfitted with an integral scope rail and factory muzzle brake. Another surprising touch is some of them take AI-style magazines (depending on the caliber).

  • .243 Win | AI-style Magazines | 1/2″ x 28 Thread
  • 6.5 Creedmoor | AI-style Magazines | 1/2″ x 28 Thread
  • 7mm-08 Rem | AI-style Magazines | 1/2″ x 28 Thread
  • .308 Win | AI-style Magazines | 5/8″ x 24 Thread

  • .300 Win Mag | Single-Stack Magazines | 5/8″ x 24 Thread
  • .450 Bushmaster | Single-Stack Magazines | 5/8″ x 24 Thread

All the rifles, even with varying caliber size and magazine choice, have the same MSRP of $629. Ruger even touts that these new American rifles “offer minute-of-angle accuracy that can make every hunt a success.” Giving an accuracy guarantee can always be a dangerous game as a manufacturer, but they must be supremely confident in this new offering to do so which is typically uncharacteristic of them. These will be an interesting rifle to see reviewed or out in the wild getting put to use.
