Recently a letter was issued by the Hawaii Police Department stating that using medical marijuana disqualifies residents of their ability to own firearms and ammunition. Hawaii requires all legal firearms to be registered. Oh, and yes, we all know that the need to register your guns is stupid. Good, we got that out of the way.
Now, something similar is happening in Pennsylvania. There are reports of medical marijuana users being denied firearms due to the PICS background check. Pennsylvania State Police have their own background check and it is required to be used over the FBI NICS check.
