Dark Storm Industries recently announced a trio of special edition AR-style rifles targeted for the hunting market. The new DS-15 Hunter special edition rifles are chambered for the 300 BLK cartridge, feature a camouflage finish and are available in three different styles to match your state’s legal requirements.

The standard Dark Storm Industries model is a pretty straightforward AR-15 rifle. It is built on the company’s billet 7075-T6 lower with a forged upper that has a forward assist. Its barrel is 16″ long with a 1:8″ twist. It has a carbine length gas system with a micro steel block and a M16 type bolt carrier group.

It has a fixed length Magpul stock, Hogue pistol grip  and 10 round magazine. The rifle is hydrodipped to apply a Next G2 Camo finish. The rifle has extended take down pins and an M-LOK compatible hand guard. It weighs a hair unter 7 pounds.

The second, fixed magazine model is very similar, but it has a fixed 10-round magazine. The third version of the gun, the featureless model, also has a fixed magazine and reduces controllability of the gun by using a spur grip. While this style grip may increase the possibility of an accidental shooting, it is in place to meet the laws of certain states.

All of the rifles have the same suggested retail price from DSI: $1,095. So, there is no tax for living in a rights restricted region of the USA.
